The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated biphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

The maximum concentrations of the hazardous substances are mentioned below:

• 0.1% by weight in homogenous material for lead
• 0.1% by weight in homogenous material for mercury
• 0.1% by weight in homogenous material for hexavalent chromium
• 0.1% by weight in homogenous material for polybrominated biphenyl (PBB)
• 0.1% by weight in homogenous material for polybrominated biphenyl ether (PBDE)
• 0.01% by weight in homogenous material for cadmium

KPC has a wide range of lead free PVC compounds. Our products comply with RoHS standards. They are thoroughly tested at SGS laboratory to detect levels of heavy metal content.
